Milestones on Paramount Drive in Hamilton offers a full-service dining experience that blends Canadian and Italian influences with a focus on grill and steakhouse fare. The restaurant’s setting suits a range of occasions—from casual family gatherings to more polished dinners, including celebratory meals like birthdays. The atmosphere strikes a balance between approachable and refined, with friendly, attentive service that tends to make visitors feel comfortable from the moment they walk in.

Guests often arrive midday or evening to enjoy a varied menu featuring standout dishes like the Sweet Chili Chicken Bowl, Baja Fish Tacos, and the Prime Rib Hash. For those who appreciate fresh, well-executed starters, options such as the Garlic Cheese Bread and Spinach & Artichoke Dip set the tone well. Dessert choices, including White Chocolate Cheesecake and Dulce De Leche Cheesecake, offer a sweet finish that’s appreciated by many diners.

Patrons looking for a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere will find the patio a pleasant spot for dinner during warmer months. The menu thoughtfully caters to both brunch and dinner crowds, with items like California Eggs Benny and Breakfast Tacos available alongside more hearty mains such as the Marsala Pork Chop and Charred Chili Lime Butter Black Cod.

Locals tend to highlight the welcoming service, which adds to the comfortable but polished dining environment. Some notes from the community mention room for improvement with drink selections, particularly craft beers, and occasional wait times during busy periods, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

Milestones serves well for outings where the company and conversation take centre stage, supported by a menu that offers both familiar favorites and dishes with a touch of inventive flair. It’s a reliable choice for families, groups celebrating special occasions, and anyone seeking a balanced dining experience that leans toward classic North American and Italian-inspired grill cuisine.

Finally had a chance to get together with my sister for some much-needed sister time. Told her that I booked us a lunch date at Milestones over on Red Hill for Dec 17th at 1 pm. From the moment we walked in and got seated by a friendly server, I was optimistic for a positive experience. Well, let me tell you, we were in for such a treat. My sister and I have never experienced such warm and friendly service in years. I have been a Milestones fan since having Christmas lunches at the Ancaster restaurant, but this was service beyond all levels. I was so glad that we dined closer to home. This was our first time dining at the Red Hill location. Morgan came to our table and introduced herself to us, suggested some items on the menu, and her candour was very much appreciated when she suggested some festive drink ideas when I asked. I ordered the "Winter Club" and was very pleased. (We started out with sparkling water and my sister had her coffee, which she complemented that it was just the right brew.) When our drinks were brought over, Morgan remarked that if I was not happy with it, she assured me that she would see to it for a suitable substitute. I was not disappointed, in the least. Then came time to order. We shared the Spinach and Artichoke dip (one of my favourites, and my sister's first time trying this app), and we still had lots left over prior to our main courses. My sister ordered the Blackened Chicken Alfredo, and I ordered the Crispy Shrimp Noodle. My sister tends to favour the less-spicier of dishes, so this one was perfect for her palate. Just enough garlic so as not to overpower her dish, and she really enjoyed the cheese combinations and the texture of the pasta. My crispy noodle bowl was filled with a generous amount of large and seasoned shrimp, topped on a delicious bowl of ramen noodles with a variety of spices that I would never be able to replicate in my own home kitchen. And that's the whole point of dining out - to enjoy something you typically wouldn't make yourself. The dishes were plentiful, the plates were full of food - so much so that for once we ended up taking our left-overs home, along with the dip and tortilla chips. (I apologize that I don't have photos, as my words won't do any justice to the chefs and line cooks who did a wonderful job - but I'm not comfortable snapping pictures in a restaurant at the dining table. So old-school that way. LOL). I don't usually do desserts, but Morgan brought us over a delicious and delectable HUGE slice of carrot cake. It was so tasty that we didn't leave a crumb. The one drawback (if you can call it that) is this - we were spoiled with the best ever customer service and food service that we ever experienced in a long time. Morgan set a very high bar for what we experienced at our luncheon yesterday. Her bubbly personality, her lighthearted and cheery dialogue with us just made our experience that much more enjoyable. She was not interruptive at the least, but took the time to come refill my sister's coffee and checked in on us to see how we were doing without being obtrusive. She is the consummate professional in her field. Thank you, Morgan, for helping to provide both me and my sister a most joyful and lovely lunch date together. We will definitely be back! Happy Holidays to you and yours, Morgan! Sincerely, Denise and Cathy XO

Great customer service. The food was amazing. I had enough to bring home with me. The server was extremely friendly and made sure to take a few pictures when we had asked as it was my sister’s birthday.

The service was really good, nice atmosphere. They could use with a few more craft beer selections. The food was good, good flavour. Two of our sides were supposed to come with focaccia bread and we realized half way through our meal. They came out with it but it's definitely not focaccia bread. It's a nice spot to have dinner on the patio

It’s been years since we last came to Milestones. We tried eating here for Mother’s Day. The food wasn’t too bad, the burger was a bit on the dry side. The drinks were good we had the two kinds of mimosa, the shoyu Caesar and the true north Caesar. The coconut calamari was good, as well as the clam chowder to start. We had a mix of food from the brunch and lunch menu. Two orders of smash burgers, and a 19 something burger which was on the dry side. The Mac and cheese was bland and the steak and eggs was such a small piece of steak. The shakshuka was probably the best thing from the menu. Service was good over all.

Birthday celebration dinner on Monday night. We were one of 4 couples dining on this night so, we thought “great we’ll get a good dinner as they aren’t too busy.” Started off with a wonderful, perfectly cooked, coconut calamari appetizer. Then the wait started…..with no notice of “your dinner will be here shortly….” Waited some more. Waited some more for the waitress to come by so we could voice our concerns. No one came by. When our order finally came the meat was delicious and I must say one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It was cooked, and seasoned, to perfection. However, the $3.00 chimicurri butter add-on should have been described as a Tablespoon of butter with parsley flakes. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold as were the veggies which were disappointing as well. Two carrots, 5-6 green beens and three slivers of red onion. None of these issues were serious enough to return my plate and wait until who-knows-how-long for a remade plate. My partner’s dinner of back ribs with a side of korean ribs, fries and coleslaw was equally disappointing. The back ribs were delicious and fell off the bone. But the korean ribs lacked seasoning, the french fries were cold and the coleslaw was missing a dressing, or something, to hold it together. It will, unfortunately, be a while before we decide to celebrate with Milestones Hamilton again.
